Daytime French Classes 2019/20

These classes are held at 15 Molivers Lane, Bromham. They will start in September 2019 for a ten-week autumn term and will continue for 10 weeks in the winter term and then for a further 5 weeks in the summer term (so a total course length of 25 weeks). Fees are payable on a per term basis.  

Please note all courses are limited to a maximum of 8 participants and that full payment per term is required when booking.

Improve your French

This course is for those who already know some French (perhaps from a beginners' course or even from schooldays!) for everyday situations such as shopping, restaurants etc. We will build on this knowledge to improve confidence, accuracy and vocabulary. You will need a copy of the coursebook Façon de Parler Book 1 (5th edition published by Hodder Education). The book is available with or without the accompanying CDs - these are optional but highly recommended. The textbook will be supplemented by additional material for further practice of listening, speaking and reading skills.

Fridays 1100-1230.  The autumn term will Start Friday 27 September 2019 (half term Friday 25 October 2019), the winter term will start Friday 10 January 2020.  (Fees £110 for each of the 10 weeks autumn and winter terms, £55.00 for the 5 week summer term.  All additional handouts are included. 

Speaking, listening and reading

This course is at a lower level than French Conversation. For this course you should have a reasonable understanding of the correct use of present, past and future tenses and other grammar (we will revise the more advanced aspects of grammar). There is no text book for this course and all materials will be provided. The aim of this course is to improve accuracy and confidence in conversation, to work on listening skills and to build vocabulary. We will work with a wide range of subjects and material for listening and reading comprehension and as a basis for conversation.

This course will be running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  

Tuesdays, 1045-1245, The autumn term will start Tuesday 24 September 2019 (half term Tuesday 22 October 2019), the winter term will start Tuesday 7 January 2020. (£130.00 per term for each of the 10-week autumn and winter terms, £65.00 for the 5-week summer term). The course fee includes all handouts. 

This Wednesday course is fully booked for the autumn term. Wednesdays, 0915-1115. The autumn term will start Wednesday 25 September 2019 (half term Wednesday 23 October 2019) and the winter term will start Wednesday 8 January 2020.  (£130.00 per term for each of the 10-week autumn and winter terms, £65.00 for the 5-week summer term). The course fee includes all handouts. 

 

French Conversation

This is the highest level course. For this course you need to be able to hold a conversation in French. You should have a good understanding of the correct use of tenses and other grammar. There is no text book for this course and all materials will be provided. The aim of this course is to improve fluency in conversation, to work on listening skills and to build vocabulary. We will work with a wide range of subjects and material for listening and reading comprehension and as a basis for conversation.

Wednesdays, 1330-1530. The autumn term will start Wednesday 25 September 2019 (half term Wednesday 23 October 2019) and the winter term will start Wednesday 8 January 2020. (£130.00 per term for each of the 10-week autumn and winter terms, £65.00 for the 5-week summer term). The course fee includes all handouts.
